Every week tens of thousands of laptops totaling 637,000 annually, go missing at airports across the United States according to a PCWorld article from 2008. An Intel Laptop Study Fact Sheet states that the 329 businesses in their study lost 86,455 laptop pc's worth $2.1 billion. Additionally, the study shared that on average a laptop with a lifespan of 3.1 years has a 7.12% chance of being lost or stolen, and only 5% of missing laptops were recovered.
